Suraj Budathoki is the Interim Executive Director in the Building Community in New Hampshire, BCNH, formerly Bhutanese Community of New Hampshire. Mr. Budathoki who has a broad understanding of Refugees, Immigrants, and New Americans in New Hampshire and beyond is a founding member of BCNH and a contributor at BCNH since the inception of the corporation.
Prior to pursuing BCNH executive leadership, Mr. Budathoki coordinated marketplace Navigation and New American Youth Engagement Project at Building Community in New Hampshire, BCNH. Besides pursuing graduation degree in International Relations from Norwich University, he is continually portraying call for justice and human rights in Bhutan in the scope of unity and reconciliation Bhutanese in the exile into their homeland.
Mr. Budathoki has worked in international platforms including Executive Director at International Campaign for Human Rights in Bhutan, where from he earned broad knowledge in current human rights situation in Bhutan, world refugee issues, world politics, international support system for refugees, nonprofit organizations, and diversity. US Senator Jeanne Shaheen nominated Suraj for the American Council of Young Political Leader in 2014 and 2016.
Mr. Budathoki is serving as the conduct board member at the city of Manchester for his second term. He is also the New Hampshire Delegate for the United States Refugee Congress since 2017. He also has published various articles on refugees and immigrants. He is also a recipient of 40 under 40 class of 2016, a prestigious award from Union Leader and has been recognized and honored by many more.
