About Refugee Congress

OUR MISSION:

Refugee Congress is a nonpartisan advocacy organization built and led by former refugees, asylum-seekers and other vulnerable migrants to promote the well-being, integration and dignity of all vulnerable migrants.

With delegates across all 50 states and the District of Columbia, we use our voices and experiences to inform and influence decision-makers on critical domestic and international issues that affect our communities.

Wherever conversations take place that impact refugees, asylum-seekers and other vulnerable migrants, our voices should be at the table.

OUR HISTORY:

Established in 2011, the UNHCR hosted the first Refugee Congress, bringing together 60 refugees and asylum-seekers from across the U.S. Refugee Congress has continued to grow since then, with regular Board and Delegate meetings and ongoing advocacy and support activities.

OUR DELEGATES:

We have delegates in all 50 states and the District of Columbia. Read about them and their work.

OUR PARTNERS:

Refugee Congress is grateful to our funding partner, USA for UNHCR, and our fiscal sponsor, CWS.
