Nili Sarit Yossinger, National Director

Nili Sarit Yossinger is the National Director for Refugee Congress.

As the granddaughter of Holocaust survivors, she sees advocacy at its strongest when the voices and experiences of those who once sought refuge are at the center of the conversation. In her role, Nili oversees operations of the organization, ensuring that communications, funding, and advocacy strategies fulfill the organization’s mission of ensuring that there are always refugees at the table as equal partners.

Prior to her work with Refugee Congress, Nili was a Research Project Manager at the Institute for the Study of International Migration at Georgetown University focused on complex humanitarian emergencies, with an emphasis on food security, environmental degradation, and forced migration in the Horn of Africa and the Persian Gulf regions. She also held earlier positions with the Capital Area Food Bank, the UN Refugee Agency in Washington, D.C., and Human Rights First. Nili holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from Loyola University Chicago and a Master of German and European Studies from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, along with a Certificate in Refugees and Humanitarian Emergencies from ISIM.
